Dr Leonard I Boral is Director of Blood Bank Services and a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Dr. Leonard I. Boral serves as Director of Blood Bank Services and Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, as well as Professor of Anesthesiology, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Mississippi College in Clinton, MississippDr. Boral is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine. He completed his specialty training at Syracuse Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York, and at NYU/Bellevue Medical Centers in New York City.

Dr. Monica T. Garcia-Buitrago is a Professor of Clinical Pathology and Director of Gastrointestinal Pathology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology. Her professional excellence has been recognized through multiple awards, including the Anatomic Pathology Teaching Awards (2008, 2011, 2015), the Nephrology Teaching Award in the Pathology Core Curriculum Series (2011), and First Place in Pathology Microphotography (2003). Her expertise spans Anatomic, Clinical, and Cytopathology, with clinical interests focused on Cytopathology and Gastrointestinal Pathology, particularly neoplasms and transplant pathology.

Dr. Monica T.Garcia-Buitrago current areas of research include immunohistochemical markers in gastrointestinal, hepatic and pancreatic neoplasia in Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology.

Dr. Jay Kalra is a Professor of Pathology at the University of Saskatchewan and formerly served as Head of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine for the Saskatoon Health Region. He is recognized as a clinical scientist, academic leader, and healthcare administrator with significant contributions to the field. His pioneering research in applied biochemistry established the role of oxygen free radicals in cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure and atherosclerosis, along with contributions to thyroid function testing and laboratory utilization guidelines. He has also advanced total quality management and lean healthcare practices. Dr. Kalra is a prolific author and wrote *Medical Errors and Patient Safety*.

Dr. Sergey V. Brodsky earned his MD from the North Ossetian State Medical Academy, Russia, in 1992 and later completed his PhD at the same institution. He began his professional career as a researcher focusing on various medical topics. From 2005 to 2008, he completed a residency in Anatomic Pathology at New York Medical College, followed by a fellowship in Renal and Transplant Pathology at The Ohio State University from 2008 to 2009. Dr. Brodsky has contributed extensively to the scientific literature, authoring or co-authoring more than 95 peer-reviewed publications along with several book chapters in his field.

Dr. Sergey V. Brodsky’s research focuses on renal blood flow regulation, vascular tone mechanisms, and kidney function changes in conditions such as congestive heart failure.He also studies endothelial dysfunction in hypertension and diabetes, mechanisms of nitric oxide–mediated injury, acute kidney injury, and angiogenesis, including the development of novel in vitro kidney angiogenesis models.

Dr. Merce Jorda serves as Medical Director of Clinical Laboratory Services at UMHC/SCCC and UM Hospital, and is a Professor of Clinical Pathology at the University of Miami. She has received several honors, including the Pathology Residents Teaching Award and the Women’s Cancer Association Award, recognizing her excellence in education and clinical service. Her expertise spans all areas of clinical and anatomic pathology, with a special focus on genitourinary and breast malignancies. She is also an active member of the cytopathology team, handling a high volume of breast cytology cases through the Taylor Breast Cancer Center and Braman Family Breast Cancer Center.

Dr. Merce Jorda's research interests include genitourinary pathology and breast pathology.

Dr. Mony Fraer has been an academic nephrologist since 2005, with broad expertise in the management of kidney diseases. His clinical practice covers comprehensive care for patients with kidney transplantation, kidney stones, hypertension, and dialysis in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He also continues to participate in general internal medicine inpatient care. Since 2015, he has served as Medical Director for Dialysis at the University of Iowa and works as a quality officer in the Department of Medicine and Solid Organ Transplant. He holds a Master in Healthcare Delivery Science from Dartmouth College, supporting his focus on healthcare system improvement and leadership.
